You’re manipulator, stop deceiving Nigerians – Portable condemns Verydarkman

Singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as   Portable,   has criticised controversial activist Martins Otse, also known as   Verydarkman,   accusing him of using Mohbad’s death to fuel drama and mislead the public. Portable labelled VDM a “manipulator” and warned him to stop deceiving Nigerians. He also rebuked him for persistently attacking actress  Iyabo Ojo , stating that such actions are harming the ‘Justice for Mohbad’ movement rather than the actress herself. He expressed disappointment that while VDM initially gained popularity for advocating justice for Mohbad, he now seems to have shifted his stance against the late singer. Actress and filmmaker   Bolaji Ogunmola   has reflected on relationships, noting that firstborn daughters often assume caregiving roles, which can shape their expectations in romance. According to her post on Instagram, this can lead to a pattern of over-giving and prioritising others’ needs. Bolaji emphasised that individuals, especially women, shouldn’t feel obligated to fix everything or everyone in a relationship. She encouraged them to break free from this cycle and recognise their worth, prioritising being cared for and valued, and by doing so, they can redefine what love looks like and create a more balanced dynamic. Peter Obi can’t penetrate North – Festus Keyamo

Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo , says opposition arrowhead, Peter Obi cannot penetrate northern Nigeria and garner votes like the incumbent president, Bola Tinubu. Keyamo made this statement on Sunday, when he appeared on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television. According to him, Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have political structures in place in northern Nigeria. The Aviation Minister further blasted the opposition coalition floated on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, saying it won’t go far. Keyamo, who said the oppositions are not going anywhere in terms of democracy, added that they are putting the APC on its toes to enable them to work better. “If you put Peter Obi this time as president, he cannot penetrate the north. We have our structures in the north. We have governors and our structures in the North,” he stated.

D’Tigress beat Mali to win fifth consecutive Afrobasket title

Nigeria’s D’Tigress won a fifth consecutive Women’s AfroBasket title following a 78-64 victory over Mali. It was the seventh time Nigeria would lift the trophy. Rena Wakama’s side extended their unbeaten streak at the Women’s AfroBasket tournament to 29 games. The West Africans have also qualified for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Germany. Three countries – Mali, South Africa and Senegal – will compete in the playoffs in March 2024 to fight for a place at the World Cup. D’Tigress dominated the first quarter, edging out the Malians 26-21. Both teams fought hard in the second quarter, which ended 41-41. D’Tigress, however, showed their supremacy in the third quarter, prevailing 61-56. In the end, Nigeria claimed the title with a 78-64 victory.
